WAND EXPERIENCE

Creating a pattern or motif that connects various elements to the same wardrobe design is smart way to bring a look together, especially when there is the potential for a lot of different layers and additonal accessories to be involved. When creating the uniform for the Wand Experience in Universal Studios Japan's Harry Potter World, designer Laurent created a Baroque motif that was the base for various garments, from waistcoats to hats and collars for winter coats. The role of these team members is a very active one, with lots of movement and bending, so a hardwearing but flexible design was needed, and the suitability of overcoats for inclement weather pitted against the heat of the summer required an effective bringing together of the deisng into one solid look, whatever the weather and combination of garments the staff chose to wear.
